6 Financial Lessons to Learn from Diwali

Diwali is the festival of lights that also teaches many financial lessons. Some of the lessons include Plan in advance, Protect yourself, declutter your home and financial lives.


1. Keep the Diya of learning alive:

 Keep learning new things everyday. It is said that this goddess would bless those who purify their souls with the oil of knowledge and those who keep learning. Learning is an ongoing process and not one time thing .

It’s never too late to learn the basics of finance and investments.

2. Start planning in Advance:

Diwali is celebrated all across the country across the lengths and breadths. The planning for Diwali start many months in advance, what to gift, how to decorate and much more. Everyone looks forward to the D-day and enjoys it in their own way.

Similarly, it should be wise to plan for your financial goals in a advance so that you can actually achieve what you are aspiring for. For example: For children’s education, we should plan well in advance for the corpus they need.

3 .Protect Yourself:

When you are bursting the crackers, you ensure that you are wearing clothes that dont easily catch fire and follow precautions to avoid any mishap.

Likewise, you must get financial protection by buying proper and adequate health insurance and Life insurance for your family.

4. Declutter your Home and your Financial Life :

Decluttering allows mindfulness. After a few months of practising decluttering, you’ll most definitely feel less stressed, less overwhelmed, and more in control. At Diwali, people declutter and clean their homes so that Lakshmi jee can enter their clean houses.

This gives us an insight on How equally important it is to clean our Finances. Get rid of unnecessary paper work, get rid on non performing investments and those unwanted wrong insurance policies that were done to oblige.

Diwali is incomplete without shopping, right? You shop for your favourite gadgets and appliances on Diwali. You carefully choose the product by researching about the same through internet, friends or any other sources.

6.Give your Wealth the Respect it deserves:
